There was a long queue building outside before the doors opened on what was an unseasonably warm autumn night.

Photographer PAUL HAMPSON was inside in time for openers Skinny Living.

It was a short set from the West Yorkshire/Belfast trio but they had a decent crowd in to catch their indie-soul take.

Wallis Bird came on looking like a Mario Brother with a massive smile.

As the heat in the venue increased, the Wexford-born but Berlin-based Bird included plenty of audience interaction during her genre-defying set.

There was a whole new floor on stage for Gabrielle, who was in the city as part of her 30 Years Of Dreaming Tour.

And with a beautiful backdrop and extra lighting on stage, things were all teed up for a spectacular show from the headliner.

The sound was crystal-clear, too, and her hits sounded fantastic.

With a bit of a croaky voice, Gabrielle popped off stage a couple of times, but that gave the rest of her band and the backing singers the chance to do their thing.

And with things coming to a close with Out Of Reach and Dreams itself, it was a fantastically nosatalgic night.
