News: Dereham Blues Festival

by Adam Aiken

There’s been a change of line-up for the opening night of next month’s Dereham Blues Festival.

Catfish have asked to be released from the sold-out event so lead singer and guitarist Matt Long can focus on his battle with cancer.

It means that headliner Toby Lee will instead be supported by the James Oliver Band at Dereham Memorial Hall on Wednesday, July 10.

In a statement, festival organisers said: “Matt and his family and the band are very much in our thoughts, and all associated with the festival are sending them our very best wishes.”

Tim Cara, from Friends of Dereham Memorial Hall, said: “We are very fortunate to have been able to book the fabulous James Oliver Band to open the Blues Festival on a rare free night for them.

“James is a powerhouse guitarist with a burgeoning reputation.”
