Brett and Rennie Sparks – aka The Handsome Family – will be in Norwich this week for a stop on their UK and Irish tour.

The husband-and-wife duo won over a new legion of fans when Far From Any Road was used as the theme tune for the first season of the HBO smash True Detective.

But The Handsome Family – who hail from Texas and New York – have been performing since 1993 and have nearly a dozen albums under their belt.

The pair receive regular acclaim from other notable songwriters, and David Bowie cryptically wrote “The Handsome Family” in a notebook just before he died.

The show at Norwich Arts Centre on Wednesday, September 7, is likely to be a mix of darkness and humour, with some leftfield tales thrown in for good measure.
